While Azzedine Alaia was credited for the hugely popular bandage dresses in the 1980s, the "King of Cling" worked with Thierry Mugler for several years, honing his skillset and learning to view a woman's body as sculptural.
Sort of the chicken and the egg argument... Now on to the dress!
1980s "MUGLER" label Thierry Mugler wool blend knit dress in black and red stripes, marked size Large, but fit is snug and stretchy.
90% wool, 8% nylon, 2% spandex, very fine gauge, mid weight weave.
Ribbed knit black mock neckline, black background with raised bands of red striping of varying widths throughout the dress.
As can be seen in the hanger photo, the hourglass shape is in full effect.
Falls to a few inches above the kness, but the fabric give can be made a bit longer, based on your frame.
In excellent, if not flawlwss condition- not for the faint of heart.
